Hi all,

I'm currently tracing the above family and although I'm fine with Florence's side, I'm really stuck with Albert (middle initial according to the marriage record 'A').  There are a couple options I'm looking at (via the 1911 census), one of which places an Albert in Aston, Birmingham and the other as an 'Arthur' (possibly the middle name) in Stafford, with a father's name of Henry or Victor respectively.  The 'legend' we have is that Albert's father may have been a staff sergeant in the army at some point (or Albert was) and that Albert may have had four or five brothers.

Does anyone have any connections to the Herbert family and so can help with this please?  If not I can access the marriage certificate next week, but I thought I'd ask first.   ;)

Many thanks...Helen  :)

Note: I'm also posting this on the Staffordshire board re: the Stafford/Wolverhampton link.

According to the BMD there is only one Albert A(rthur) Herbert b. between 1901 and 1905 (1903 Stafford) and one Arthur Herbert b. 1901 Stafford.  The 1901 Arthur is on the 1911 census so your Albert (Arthur - age 7), I beleive, is the other - father Victor.  The Albert b.1902 Aston didn't have a second christian name.

Kia Ora Helen
Greetings from New Zealand!
I'm curious about your Florence WARD?

I don't suppose she was Florence Annie W -the daughter of John & Mary Ann Ward born c 1887 by any chance?
Or
Florence Ward the daughter of Frederick Ward and Caroline, born c 1890?
Both born Aston.
I am desperately searching forward for both of these women who were cousins.
Thanks
Dale

Kia Ora Dale!!  ;D

Sadly neither - her middle name was Marguerite, her parents were Charles and Emily and she was born in Wednesbury near Walsall.

Always tricky coming forward beyond the 'cenci' so good luck.  But these guys on here have been a real godsend, so keep asking!!

Take care...Helen :O)

Thanks for the prompt reply Helen! My gt granpa had 7 siblings whom he left left behind when he emigrated in 1878 and I have managed to find a descendant of only one!
Unfortunately she didn't know much beyond her own immediate family!
I live in hope!
Tks again.
