Missing family members - Stewart
« on: Wednesday 11 July 12 16:28 BST (UK) »
I'm missing 4 family members son and daughters of Walter Stewart and Agnes Buchanan, I've been looking for years.

They may have gone to Glasgow or another area of Scotland or they could have emigrated like the youngest son.

Janet bn 25 Apr 1811 she may have died/married/gone into service but is not on 1841 census

Walter bn 10 Oct 1813 again the same or he's left the district

Isobel bn 03 Sep 1815 same again

Agnes bn 04 Jan 1818 was with her father 1851 census, father Walter died in 1859 but no trace of Agnes after 1851.  Thornhill Old Town Parish of Kincardine Perthshire.

Does anyone have any of these Stewarts on their family tree?  Any help tracing any of these 4 would be much appreciated thanks!  ;D

Re: Janet, Walter & Isobel

Do you have proof that they survived infancy?

None at all :-\

eta I should have added this family were very particular about naming, so Janet and Isobel must have survived until at least 1818 when Agnes was named.

I should also add there is a connection to Tuckerville, Huron, Ontario, Canada.  I just traced James the youngest of Walter and Agnes' children went out in 1851/2.  He may have gone to someone he knew and possibly a sister or brother.

There are few ships records for that time from Scotland to Canada.

I am not the most Reliable these days-too much heart damage and memory loss
While looking through Kincardine-norrierton, cemetery book, at Peter Buchanan and Janet McNab[e] I felt drawn up the page to Agness Buchannan and Walter Stewart, now the only child of the seven I have anything on is Peter who married Katherine Graham 1850 in Thornhill
Ill have a wee look tonite in some books, as I am concentrating mainly on Buchanan

regards Doun

Peter (Katherine Graham) is my 2xgt grandfather through his son Walter (twin to Alexander) and grandson Walter (who was my mother's father).

I'm trying to find all the children of Peter's father but some are still hiding!

I have most of Peter and Katherine's descendants.

Grateful for anything on this family or indeed Agnes Buchanan's parents Peter and Janet (McNab[e]).

Many thanks.
