There is a tree on ancestry that has Deborah as the daughter of HYam and Jessie Ann Kefford.

pwh you have certainly done some far -reaching research on the Rintels.  Many of the threads which I have linked  below are regarding the family overseas, but a couple do touch on the Australian history of the family with which the Aussie chatters have helped.

It may make interesting reading for those assisting here.

Does that family tree indicate that  Moses and  Hyam were brothers ?  I have the circumstantial evidence that  i
put in the first post but nothing beyond that.

Yes, it does say that they were brothers.  Parents were Meyer Rintel and Sarah Davies.

jen56johns,

Thanks for that confirmation. Sarahs family must have anglicized their name at some stage. There is a report in
the Argus in Melbourne of 8/7/186., It states that  Sarah died on 4/5/1869 aged 85 in what was then Rogasen  Prussia
Germany. It was also at one stage the Grand Duchy of Posen, but now it is Rogozno ,Poland.

Does that family tree give any  indications of Sarahs parents?  If there is it would be the first time that i  have
had any information on  Moses Rintels  maternal ancestors.

                                                                                               Thanks

Peter

I've just found another tree that has photos of both Moses and Evelina.  No parents listed for Sarah though on any of the trees.

Given Moses was born in Scotland, were his parents married there?  That might be a clue or trying to get his birth certificate so you know what Sarah's last name was originally.

Best wishes

Jenni
