I've found an article from the Adams County Free Press in Corning, Iowa dated 21 Jun 1919 regarding a divorce and custody case involving Fred M. Brink and his former wife Audra (maiden surname Woods). The Iowa courts had granted Fred custody of their daughter, Wilma Helen, when he filed for legal separation from Audra. Audra re-married to Walter and they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where they had a child together. She returned to Iowa to visit her daughter and returned to Salt Lake City with her. Once Fred discovered her whereabouts Audra was arrested for kidnapping their daughter. The court documents referred to in the article indicate that Walter and Audra had used various surnames besides Alcock including Alcott, Eccles and Lawrence. It appears the Utah courts refused to extradite Audra back to Iowa but they did later award custody of Wilma to Fred.
If you can't access Ancestry's newspaper section I would be happy to forward the article to you if you PM me your email address.
