Hallo.

Can you tell us where the info on the 1806 birth comes from?  Have you tracked Margaret on censuses to see what her age and birthplace were recorded as?

A quick look on FreeReg for Durham between 1790 and 1810 doesn't show an obvious candidate
Please help me to help you by citing sources for information.

Looking at Houghton le spring marriages she married a George Dunn and on the 1851 census, a margaret with a George living at Easington born 1806 it states she was born Blyth Northumberland is this your Margaret Carr?

I have looked on Family Search Bishops Trans. and on Houghton le Spring 1822-1830 page 201 is the marriage, which gives no clues to her parents and the marriage was by Banns.

I think this must be. I always thought she came from the same place as George. My cousin had found her originally but neither of us could trace the parents...now I know why! Thank you all for looking.

Just to be absolutely certain that this is the right couple - what do you know about their children?

These were the children living with them in 1851 in East Murton

The following were b Easington

George Dunn 18
Margaret   15
Thomas   13
Peter  11
Elizabeth   9
Mary  8

The following were born Newton Colliery
Richard 5
Ralph 3  shown as twins
Edward   3
Robert 1

In 1841 they also had a son William aged 15 and were living in Houghton Le Spring

If the children match what you know - then you are definitely looking for Margaret in Northumberland - not Durham

That is the right family as William was my great-great grandfather. They ended up in Derbyshire sinking the pits there. Some of them were killed in a colliery explosion= very sad. Thank you for clearing that up.
