Thanks very much for the email.I have just noticed my mistake. My 2xGt Grandfather was William and not Joseph Fearon. He was born in July quarter 1804 in Braithwaite and died 13 Mar 1873 in Portinscale,Keswick. He is buried in St Johns Church,Keswick-His parents were Joseph Fearon and Jane Reay (Wray).
Hannah, his wife, was born in Mowbray, Abbey Holme abt 1804 and she died 09 Mar 1874 in Portinscale,Keswick. She is buried with William in St Johns Church,Keswick.I cannot find her marriage or maiden name or anything else about her so it is intriguing me.
They had 9 children:
Joseph b 1830,Caldbeck,Crosthwaite.Died Sept 1905 Barton upon Irwell, Lancs
Mary b Abt 1832, Crosthwaite.Died 1894 Workington
Jane bAbt 1834 Braithwaite,Keswick
William b 14 Feb 1836 Keswick.Died 07 June 1864 Keswick
John b 1837 Keswick
Isaac b 14 Jan 1841 Applethwaite, Under Skiddaw,Keswick.Died after 1901
Anne b.Jul 1843 Keswick
Henry b Aug 1845 Keswick
James b1850 Keswick. Died after 1901
With such a collection you can see how I failed to understand why I couldnīt find any evidence of them in the graveyard at St Johns!!
If any of this rings any bells I would be extremely grateful as I have no idea if or when I will be able to get back to the UK again to go and search records etc for myself
