Hi Heather

I am the 3rd great grand niece of Harriot Brewer b 1829 in Bridgwater, she married a chap called John Harwood b 1831 in Bridgwater.

They had various children one of whom was Harriet b Bridgwater 1852, she married Alfred Mounsher in Bridgwater 1874.

I've not really looked into too much depth on that side of the family but let me know if I can help at all.

Best wishes

Nikki Merrett

Hi Nikki

This is only a quick message as we are just off to Scotland. Alfred Mouncher and Harriet Harwood were my husbands 2 x Great Grandparents. Their daughter Nelly born at Somerset Place, Bridgwater 15 March 1876 married William James Cave at St John the Baptist Church Bridgwater 5 April 1896. They had 13 children.

Thanks for the message and hopefully we can exchange some info soon.

Best wishes
Heather

Hi

I am researching my great great grandfather who was British consul in Valparaiso, Chile. In 1847/48 returns, I have a Charles Mounsher, tailor by trade, from Bridgwater, married to Alice and with a 7 year old daughter also called Alice. It seems they emigrated to Valparaiso and within six months they fell into troubles. Charles and his daughter travelled back to the UK first and then his wife was sent onwards.

Charles was very sick and had become destitute. They were looked after by the chaplain my relative and the subscription from the British community there which at the time, was very numerous.  They were sent back paid by the crown. His wife, according the my relative's entry, had a drink problem and spent 6 months in jail for attacking and severely wounding her sick husband.

I am writing about Valparaiso, and she caught my eye, as there are few women in the history of the period. Do you know anything about this family and specially about Alice?
