I am researching the above...Maria Gibbs nee Johnston Born Ireland 1838.
Marriage 1887, Cirencester Gloucestershire.  I have her death as 1914 Ross-on-wye, Herefordshire, I am trying to find her address at time of death to confirm she was in the Robert William Johnston household at that time. Any help on this most welcome.  Thanks J

and the death reg in Ross hereford 1914 -isn't that for a mary A Gibbs with a birth year c.1841??

Thanks for that info....she would be a step-sister to Robert William...I found out on 1901 Census aged 72 ,she has Alfred Johnston (another step brother and his son Harry Johnston, boarding with her in Gloucester.  I just wondered if she ended her days with Robert in Ross-on-wye...does it say where this Mary ? Maria originated from if it was Rochfordbridge, Westmeath, Ireland, then it is the same lady.  Any more suggestions please...thanks J

The only information given on FreeBMD is the quarter year and reg district death was registered in - plus reference. You would have to purchase the death certificate to find who was informant - possibly a relative -but could be a doctor or neighbour

I have noticed you have several posts and the informationyou haveposted seems to vary (year of birth )

Why do you think the death reg of mary A in Ross reg dist is your Maria???

Where did Robert William die???

Do you know he had moved to Ross on Wye??

Hi Suz,  Thanks for taking the time to reply to me....I do not subscribe to Ancestry...therefore my information is limited....I am sorry if you say the dates differ ?  not intentional.  With regards Ross-on-Wye...I found a Maria who died there and her age was 77 this would tie up with my Maria Gibbs nee Johnston who was born circa 1838....Robert William Johnston of Ross-on-Wye was my grandfather and my father Charles Johnston was also born there in 1902.  I have only recently discovered Maria, she was obviously a daughter left in Ireland by a previous marriage ?? of Robert Hardcastle Johnston...she first appears on the 1861 census. She married a Frederick Gibbs in 1887, when she would have been 49 ? so no children, in 1991 she is a widow... when as I mentioned her other step brother was lodging with her....then I find this death in 1914 which I though might be her, ending her days in Ross-on-Wye at the home of her step brother, his wife Emily died young at 41 years, leaving 6 children, so wondered if she came to help out.....Robert William died 1926 age 59....intriguing for me...Thanks for your help..J
