Hi again,
I couldn't resist delving into the "other" side of Donald's family a bit more.
The results are fascinating!
I looked at the 1841 census for Fanny Nelson, with a father Charles, and found them living in Limehouse, father Charles, a cooper, and mother Mary - neither of whom were born County.
Ref HP107/701 Folio 10/5 page 2
Found a baptism of Fanny Nelson, at Limehouse, 20 July 1824, by Charles Richard Nelson (a cooper) and Mary Anna.
Looking at the 1851 census, Charles R Nelson is shown now as a land and house proprietor, born Barking Essex. His wife Mary Anna is shown as being born about 1794 Norfolk, Bawdeswell!!
Couldn't find a marriage in London or thereabouts, but found, would you believe, a marriage, by licence, in Sparham in 1815. Charles Richard Nelson married .... wait for it .... Mary Anna Nelson. One of the witnesses a James Nelson.

Then checked the Bawdesell PR's, for a Mary Anna Nelson (as she says in 1851 that's where she was born) - and found, baptised 1793 -

So Donalds Great Grandparents on his father's side, and Great Great Grandparents on his mother's side are one and the same.
So no link to Lord Nelson, but a good story nevertheless!
