Hello everyone

I'm shaking one particular branch of my tree, but not much is falling down at the moment and I'm thinking that this is because I might have the wrong parents for Elizabeth Bogg.  What I know comes from the census information:

Elizabeth, born around 1809 in Spilsby (according to the 1851 census).  The marriage record I've found online indicates that when she married Thomas Waite on 28/08/1830 she was from the Miningsby Allottment.  On Family Search I have found a baptism record (28/01/1810 in Hundleby) which lists her parents as John and Rebecca.

Only problem is I can find NO trace at all of a marriage for John Bogg and Rebecca.  Mind you, Lincolnshire records don't seem to be that well represented online (ok, gripe over).

Your thoughs and/or ideas of where to look next are greatly appreciated.

1851 Census has John/Rebecca Bogg, John born c 1780 in Tointon (Toynton ?) and Rececca c 1779 in Hundleby.
John is a Shoemaker
The 1809 Baptism of Elizabeth is on FreeREG +;

Pretty much confirms to me that John/Rebecca are Elizabeths Parents as Daug Mary Ann is with them in 1841 Census.
By 1851 Census Mary is born c 1832 and home with Thomas/Elizabeth

Hello everyone

I'm afraid I've been on holiday since last Thursday and not able to access this site until now - my apologies if you all feel as if your work is unappreciated.  Believe me, it absolutely isn't!

I had located the Boggs in the 1841 and 1851 censuses (through Rebecca rather than John who has been slippery and elusive to find through online sites) - in 1841 they have a Mary Wait with them which, given the age, could be a granddaughter but I haven't checked it out too much yet.

From what I can see, John died in 1853 and Rebecca in 1859 - ordering those death certs is my next order of business.

I do find Lincolnshire research pre census to be very tricky online, so thanks for the mention of the lincstothepast website - I'll check it out and bookmark it.
