Thank you to all of you!  SO, for my first time researching, I haven't been given an easy task if it has all you 'expert' researchers baffled, I was honestly throwing my hands up in the air.  I so appreciate all the info!
cheers JO

I could well be way off track but there’s this birth in Qld

Alice Georgina FONTAINE, dau of Gille FONTAINE and Lavenia Ann Morris RIDER.  1881/C1224     I cannot find a marriage or a death for Alice Georgina FONTAINE online Qld bdm.  I can see the surname MISMASHED as DONTAIN for the marriage of her likely sister though ….

Could Alice Georgina FONTAINE be Alice Fosdyke, ie Mrs George Newton …..  or perhaps is FOSDYKE a mismash for Fontaine  ;D or am I way way off track  ::)

Cheers,  JM (gradually getting through the cuttings, alas, not finding anything as yet.)

ADDING  (cannot see if I am duplicating, if so, my apologies)
There's a possible 1898 birth for a baby for Alice FONTAINE at Qld bdm,  Muriel Gwendoline FONTAINE  C9218  Fingers crossed.

Augustus James & Thurza Elizabeth weren't twins. Their registered births show that:

August James b. 13/07/1871 #C244
Thurza Elizabeth b. 11/01/1874 #C341

I can tell you that Augustus (Gus) James married into the very well known McNamara family.

Hi there,

Your list :

Is  that from QLD BDM records, or perhaps only from a SUBMITTED tree, that needs you to verify their submissions against official records?   :)

Alice Georgina Fontaine’s death is noted as Alice Georgina GURDLER, in Brisbane 1947  (parents Gille Fontaine and Lavinia Ann Morris Rider).

A public tree at Ancestry has her marriage as 21 March 1903, New Farm, to Thomas Henry GURDLER.  BUT I cannot find that marriage listed at Qld BDM online.     I can find Qld BDM  listing children’s births to Alice Fontaine as GURDLER, from 1904, 1906, 1914 with father as Thomas Andrew GURDLER.   The same online public tree has NO Thomas Andrew GURDLER mentioned.   The public tree makes NO mention of the 1898 birth I spotted.  :)

Cheers,  JM

Thanks,  well that seems to sort that out then.   I have found nothing in the cuttings either.

Cheers,  JM

If anybody is interested in making anything out of this:

Frances Pearl De La Fontaine Married ERIC KEOLUO KAMALU KANAHI in Sydney in 1950. Ref # 16453/1950

She seems to be the only Frances that looks remotely like the Frances Newton / Fontaine that is the Sister ???

Neil.....possibly way off track...but who knows ::)

Thanks Neil,

there appears to be seperate surnames - I have come across De La Fontaine and La Fontaine.......I believe they have no significance to Fontaine.
