Do you have any more information?

I've looked under "George Harris" and the service number and not found anything yet.

Does it give any further information on the edge of the medals?

I think it's your man, there's a medal record card for those two medals only and a service record on Ancestry.

He seems to have spent a lot of time in Egypt and survived a bout of Influenza!

onwards.the phillip bass soldier had a number of r4-095442.so thats cleared.however i have since found r4-095448 assigned to william green, this is with the national archives.perplexed as to why the number is different on the medal but it cannot be right.consquently any information about the other george harris r4-09518 would be gratefully recieved. ;)

An interesting one, two possible options are 1 There was a mix up when stamping the medals, 2 He lost them and bought some similar ones to replace them?

Do you access to Ancestry?

looked further and 095448 is attached to william gibb.not quite sure what has happened here.that is a definite its on the national archives.i still access ancestry but cannot find another link to george.on the records for 095418 its got his forwarding address as gills green hawkhurst.my george worked at gills green.have checked the next of kin... a friend.cant really find much about her.i think there is a bit of a cover up here.maybe he wasnt george harris at all.cant find his birth anywhere he was supposedly from kidderminster but nothing matches his wedding certificate.bit of a bump
