This is very useful.
My great-grandmother died at Storthes Hall in 1921 and is buried in an unmarked grave at Thurstonland church. The family had always believed that she died young, so it was something of a shock to find her in Storthes, aged 58! I'm currently trying to find out when she was admitted.
It's spooky, but my daughter lived in the uni accomodation there, so I know the place well, even though we live ninety miles away.
One thing, and slightly off-topic - the 'acting medical superintendent' at Storthes gave a completely different occupation for her husband on her death certificate. His occupation is given as a coal hewer, and he was actually a butcher.
I wasn't expecting that, but maybe he did change direction at some point? Or could it have been an error?
I'd be interested to know how others with the Storthes Hall connection are getting on.
