Veal birth
« on: Sunday 24 June 12 17:48 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find the birth of Martha Veal.  I know that she had three children out of wedlock between 1766-1779 in Quethiock, before marrying Thomas Doney in 1785 in Morval where she died in 1805.

Can anyone help me with her birth?

There was a Martha Veal baptism 21.2.1738 in Padstow which is the closest baptism which I can find
courtesy of OPC Cornwall.

The others showing were after 1766.

Padstow to Quethiock is between 30-40 miles in distance going from one side of the county to the other.

I had seen that birth but given it was a distance away had decided it wasn't the one but I guess if she found herself in the family way that maybe she might have moved.  Knowing that she died in 1805 it would be great if her death record might state her age.

Martha may have been sent to the other side of the county by her parents I suppose.

The burial record gives a date of 31.10.1805, place of death Morval but there is no age given.

If I find anything else out I will let you know.

No problem..

I've just looked on Familysearch for Morval records but all they have are Marriages
so looks like another brickwall  :(
