I am looking for the parents and a death date for Elizabeth who was born in Newton Abbot, Devon approx.1843. She married William Webber Reed ( also born approx. 1843 in Morchard Bishop where his family had lived for generations) They married in Newton Abbot Dec. qtr. 1866  and after living in Torquay and Bridgewater Somt. and having 2 children  William Colin and Emily Elizabeth, they moved to London where William was a coach builder with his brother Hubert. William died Paddington 1901 aged 59.  Thanks in advance for any help with this.

FreeBMD shows she had middle initial K at marriage - do you know what that stood for?

Was Tancock definitely her maiden name as opposed to previous married name?

The Probate Calendar shows William Webber Reed died on the 7th July 1901 of 9 Walterton Road, Paddington.  Probate was granted to William John Colin Reed, wheelwright, and his effects were £804 8s 5d.

Could this suggest his wife was no longer alive?

It just means that by his will he had appointed his son as executor. Elizabeth may or may not have been alive (she was alive at the time of the 1901 census a couple of months earlier).

Ten years later Elizabeth Reed is still at the same address.

Hello,
I have an engraved City and Guilds Technical Education medallion. Engraved "Hubert Reed Carriage Building 2nd Prize 1884" around the rim.
It's 2 inches in diameter and about .25 inch thick. Heavy as well.
Could this be Hubert Reed, William Reed's brother, the date seems to fit?
Please let me know and if it's of interest to you.

Thank you for your message and it's quite possible that this is the brother of our William Reed, however  we are only following the direct line of the family and not anyone else. Best wishes.
