How may I learn to whom William the Conqueror gave land grants in County Durham/Northumberland? Thankyou, in advance, to anyone who can assist.

At a guess, try the Victoria County History, should be in local library, some are digitised, see
http://www.victoriacountyhistory.ac.uk/
Domesday does not cover either county; apparently there is a separate book, Boldon Book, that covers Durham and parts of Northumberland.
Hope this helps a bit
