BRODERICK, JOHN WILLIAM BURIAL LOOKUP PLEASE
« on: Thursday 21 June 12 14:00 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I need help locating my elusive JOHN WILLIAM BRODERICK (b. abt 1814) but I am guessing at the birth as he supposedly had a son with ABIGAIL PEARCE ALGAR 23 October 1840 named JOHN THOMAS BRODERICK.  He is listed as the father on his birth certificate.  And is also listed as a Baliff.  However, it now looks as though he also had another son with the same name: JOHN WILLIAM BRODERICK in 1840 and who died in 1843.  But this son's mother was listed as JANE BRODERICK.  WIlliam Sr. is also listed on this Birth as being a Baliff.

I cannot locate JOHN WILLIAM BRODERICK jr or Sr. on the 1841 census.

I am wondering if JOHN WILLIAM BRODERICK (b. abt. 1814) is buried in Kent and if he did actually die before 1841.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!

Are we actually looking for James Thomas born 1840 (not John Thomas)?

Where did this birth take place and under what name is the child registered?  Does the mother's name say Abigail Pearce BRODERICK formerly ALGAR or Abigail Pearce ALGAR?

When and where does James Thomas next turn up?  1851 ???

This family then ???

1851 Holbeton, Devon

Agness ALGAR head wid 60 pauper labourer's widow b.Charleton Devon
Abigail BRODERICK dau wid 36 dressmaker b.Holbeton Devon
Jm's Thomas grandson 10 b.Kingsbury Middlesex

With so many names, I did mix up JOHN WILLIAM BRODERICK AND ABIGAIL'S SON JAMES THOMAS BRODERICK.  It is not John but rather JAMES.

On JAMES THOMAS BRODERICK's birth certificate it lists his mother as: ABIGAIL BRODERICK formerly ALGAR.
It also lists JOHN WILLIAM BRODERICK as his father with an occupation as BALIFF.  Under the heading on the brith certifcate of Signature, description and residence of informant it lists F. Dawes, or F. Daves or Davis, Occupier Kingsbury.

the 1841 census with Abigail is bizzare as it states Abigail's name as ABIGAIL PEARCE.  We know for a fact that Abigail was the daughter of Agnes and James Algar, so the name has me puzzled as that was always her middle name - unless one of the dashes on the census meant "the same as above" ie: Algar as her surname.

But, the JOHN WILLIAM BRODERICK's really have me puzzled.
