Ahh.. but looking at the post again... William who was transported was reported as a 'labourer'  and in the 1851 census Maria Blackwell is shown as 'married' aged 40 with a 1 year old daughter Elizabeth ?  :-\
Ref HO107/1743/F89 Earls Barton, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Maria Blackwell. 40. Head. Lace-maker. b. Willingham, Bucks
William Sheffield. 17. son. Shoemaker. b. Earls Barton
Mary Blackwell. 9. Daughter. Shoe-closer. b. Earls Barton
Eleanor Blackwell. 7. Daughter. Scholar b. Earls Barton
Elizabeth Blackwell. 1. Daug. b. Earls Barton
Infact, all three girls have been born after the 1842 transportation of William Blackwell....

Hi Captain

l think l have actually confused myself and as you can tell lm still pretty much a beginner compared to other researchers and l had not seen the  1851 census so thank you for that l did not understand the high possibilty of different spelling etc, l am absolute on the information concerning Rebecca born  1830 she married Frederick Ward in Northampton Northamptonshire l stupidly took william blackwell with daughter rebecca as the william blackwell who was transported as rebeccas father which now he was not .

My Rebecca is The daughter of William Blackwell the shoemaker and Elizabeth and from what you kind people have mention about the  1851 Census my next search would be to attempt to find my William on the  1851 as was not with the family, l am also thinking that the  William Blackwells even tho confused me could be related william blackwell who was transported had a cousin AUnt and his Grandmother were named Rebecca he also had a Uncle John Blackwell born Wollaston but married and raised his family in Higham ferrers john is also stated as a labourer which is the information of my true William Blackwells father looks like a good possibilty but then again my william could be a william blackwell from wales who happened to end up in Earls barton so it is all just speculation at the moment either way l have moved forward in my research from where l was yesterday, And must say even tho l have traced the wrong William Blackwell he seemed a very interesting person and really enjoyed the search and maybe helpfull to fellow researcher should they come across my posts in the future but hopefully not confuse them as much as l have other lol

Thank you all again

Kind Regards

Nadine

HI All.

Nadine you have noted two valuable points in researching family trees.  :)

1. Always check your information before going forward along the
in-correct branches. You did.

2. No matter how new you are to family research everyone one of
us starts with a birth certificate and a set of parents and progresses
from that point.

Also as you so rightly say the information by being in the public domain
may help another researcher who is following the other William Blackwell.

Therefore the postings are in-valuable to many.  :)

As Marilyn (mgeneas) and Alan have transcribed all Northants bap, marriages,
and burials for the areas they list they are an in-valuable resource
for us in Northants and at a click of a button we can assist others.

I do have photo's of the graves at Earls Barton and Cemetery Records
so if you need help with anything related to them just ask.

Rootschatters are always willing to help knock down someones brick walls.  :)

Sandy
