William Belton Rothley

Trying to trace marriage of William Belton baptised Rothley Dec 1732.
IGI suggests he married a Margaret?, with first noted child; George Belton baptised in Mountsorrel 1768. Two subsequent children also baptised in the parish. Suspecting marriage around mid 1760s?
Any help or pointers gratefully appreciated.

I can check the Mountorrel Prs to see if Georges mother is mentioned and then check Rothley Prs for marriage next time in Loughborough library.

Yes I am hoping this is William baptised 13 Dec 1732 is the one I am looking for.[Father of Thomas Belton died 1831] IGI has down as Wil, same for father but no mother's name. I hoping to trace his parents and the mysterious 'Margaret'. Have checked Freereg and Leicestershirevillages/Phillmore marriage index but cant seem to trace and links. Have a look at neigbouring parishes such as Sileby and Barrow but still no luck. Will now try searching using Wilson.

the Wil belton on the igi is an extracted - so from original. if Bunnygirl has the right one then that looks like your 'William = Wilson; maybe mothers maiden name?

Rothley PRs checked but no further info. found the bap of 'Wil' s/o Wil Belton & his wife. i could not see a marriage for a William belton 1742 - 1770 ( for Thomas's mother etc.)

i checked the Leics IGI & again found Wil Belton 1732 but no marriages to a margaret  at all.
