Robert Clarke
« on: Thursday 14 June 12 19:20 BST (UK) »
Hi can you help?  My ggg Grandfather Robert Clarke born 1813 in Muncaster Parish married Mary Elliot in 1836 in Arlecdon. They had two children, the youngest being Robert Jnr  born 1839 in Distington.  After this date Robert Snr seems to have died or disappeared. He does not appear with his wife and children on the 1841 census and on the 1851 census she is a widow.

I cannot find a death for him anywhere between 1839 and 1851, has anyone any ideas?

Rosie

It will probably be more effective to check this on PR's,just to confirm he is your man.

Remember that Wigton was the registration district ... he wasn't buried at Wigton itself http://members.madasafish.com/~cgrs/WIGBUR.htm

There were lots of parishes in the district http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/wigton.html
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
