Baptism lookup please
« on: Wednesday 13 June 12 18:25 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Can anybody find the parents of Ellen Cooper b1883 in Fencott? She married Arthur Edwin Honour in 1906.

Thank you,

Jack

There is an 1891 entry with parents John J and Sarah A but birthyear is 1889 (1888 on freebmd)

This seems to be your Ellen

Births March qtr 1883
Ellen Cooper     Bicester  3a 821

What is her fathers name on the 1906 marriage cert as there is no 1901 entry either with that profile

Is this marriage too much of a coincidence?

Marriages June qtr 1890   Ellen Cooper Bicester  3a 1241 and on same page -
David Honour

No children with them in 1891

Ellen b 1883 was illegitimate

Have a look at the 1881 centry for Ellen Cooper b Murcott 1866 and in 1891 - Ellen jnr is with her grandfather and her mother Ellen and stepfather David  are living next door

I don't have the marriage certificate and I have found the marriage on FreeBMD. Is this the only possible trace of Ellen you can find?

There were a lot of Honours and Coopers in the area so I think that is just coincidence.

Can you list the people in that census you've just found so I can add it to my tree as I currently have no subscription site access.

It is funny she's illegitimate as her husband was also illegitimate!

Ray,

Thank you but I had already found this BMD, though it doesn't list the parents and that's really what I want. But it looks like Carole has found the parents on a census - so we'll just have to wait and see who she says is listed in the family....

Hi

The 4 pages for the hamlet of Fencott is packed full of Cooper, Honour and Collett families
Charlotte Collett is grandpa Coopers housekeeper.
