Hi John
Nothing like hard evidence to satisfy our skeptical minds hehehe!  It would be far to easy to accept the work of others but it's nice to understand the history and sources.
John Solomon eh?  He is a man of mystery, there is a fair bit about his son I believe from recollection on the lancs library newspaper archives (have printed it all out) but trying to track John Solomon is a challenge.  I am looking (well trying to in my novice way) to track down a baptism for him on the lancs parish records but am feeling a roadtrip coming up.  The Gardner side is my direct line so just want to get back as far as I can.  Plus I would like to satisfy my own curiosity about Ann Skinner - is she the right one to lead us to blue blood or is she another Ann Skinner?  I even researched the children of the infamous king, he had 9 kids and the tree I saw showed 30 by which point I got bored of counting so really am not convinced... hopefully I will be convinced one day
How about you?

i suspect that John Solomon's grandfather--is the Solomon Gar(d)ner baptised at Poulton le Fylde in the 1740's---no direct proof yet--but just a nagging feeling--
