Mersey Pilots with surname BIRD
« on: Sunday 10 June 12 20:20 BST (UK) »
I am tracing my husbands family tree and we know many of his family were pilots on the Mersey inthe 17 and 1800's. I am stuck on George Bird, born appros 1844 +/- 2 years and who his father was - possibly a Thomas Bird? I know that Georges sons William and Matthew Neil were also pilots. Does anyone have documantation on teh history of Mersey Pilots that may help? Thanks  :)

Hi Polly and Welcome to Rootschat

There is a thread on the Occupation board for Mersey Pilots with some very knowledgeable people helping. You might want to post your query there.
