Sarah Jones - death Merthyr Tydfil after 1915

I am looking for a death/burial record of Sarah Jones b 1845 and died after 1915, probably in Merthyr Tydfil. I have several possibilities from the GRO Index. Is there a way of narrowing the search or doing lookups or do I have to purchase the Death records until I get the right one (could be an expensive exercise!)

Hello 

You could try to order the certificate from the register office rather than GRO, and specify known facts such as address or area where Sarah lived, and names of family members. Merthyr registration district covers a wide area so some of the possible deaths you have identified may have been outside Merthyr itself - see freebmd:

That would help to eliminate deaths from the wrong town
