baptism, horham or stradbrook
« on: Friday 08 June 12 22:21 BST (UK) »
hi all i wander if someone could look for a possible baptism for me, either in horham or stradbrook. my great gran lavinia (sometimes lovey or lovenia) loveridge was born 25th aug 1897 to eliza loveridge and hopefully israel loveridge.  they were romanies and generally always baptised there children. i have lavinia's birth cert and it only lists eliza this is usually the way with romanies. so im hoping for a fathers name on a baptism record. she was born in or near horham. hoping someone can help.
thanks so much tracey

I have found a baptism at Horham, St Mary for

Lavinia Loveridge on 6/9/1897, mother Eliza, no mention of a father. Abode Cranfield Bdf.

actually ive just had a thought maybe i have a clue after all. the only family i have with an eliza and lavinia in is one in the 01 and 11 census, this is a family led by israel. now in the census, eliza lists her birth place as cranfield beds. so maybe i can dare to conclude it is the same eliza. dare i what do you think. maybe im  :) now.
