One of my Irish ancestors was born in Donegal. The place name I've been given is Twboyne - is that correct, or could it be Taughboyne?

Spelling variations were quite common- where did you get "Twboyne" from?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for

It was the research done by my grandparents. They probably couldn't read someone's writing or something. I can't find it on Google Earth though.

There is also a townland Tievebane in Fahan Upper parish.
What were the names and dates for your ancestors?

The person I'm looking for is Hugh Sweeney born in about 1788

you really need th town land name you might see something on the site I have given you it is the Donegal Resouces site.

That's brilliant. I'll have a good look at that site later. I didn't know it existed. I've got ancestors from Sligo and Monaghan too, but I haven't really started on them yet!
