16th South Lancashire Regiment
« on: Thursday 07 June 12 13:56 BST (UK) »
My Grandfather Edward Lloyd in WW1 served in the 16th South Lancashire Regiment. Would it be possible for me to obtain a photo of him through this regiment?  I have birth, marriage, Death and various other paperwork but no ''face'' to put to the name.

Thank you
Sandra

Sandra its very difficult as no official photos were taken for records back then.
The best place to search would be local papers they often had "home town " stories and showed photos of lads enlisting as well as carrying obituaries and wounded lists.

Was he an Officer?

Its often easier to research a casualty

He was not an Officer, a Private.  Will search for newspapers as you suggested. Thank you.
