Oral History Project for the Nottingham Lace Industry. HELP ( Jane Swan)

Hi,
I have been looking at the conversations about  family history in Nottingham , related to the Lace Industry. I am a researcher and lecturer and am planning a possible oral history project and am hoping that someone in this chat site, ( possibly Jane Swan), may be able to help me at the start of my research. I am hoping to meet people who are able to help me find families within this community who are interested in archiving and preserving their history.
The plan is that I start from the roots up so that the project can be designed to reflect what the community wants regarding such a preservation project and so I am interested to talk to anyone who may also be interested, can help, or has links with the Nottingham Lace Industry.

I am also interested in the topic area, currently investigating oral history of lace workers in the East Midlands, particularly looking at the demise of the industry in the latter half of the 20th century.

Deb, I hope it's OK if I contact you directly off list to chat more about your research.  I'm really interested to find out more, especially the project's community-driven focus.  Not looking to undertake an oral history project myself, more of a review of existing work, but also looking at new initiatives - such as yours.  Hope this is OK.
