Have death certificate - where burried?

Simple question  .  I have some death certificates but have been unable to find the burial place.
Could someone please let me know the best way of going about this?  For one I have tried the parish church but not there 1900.  The other is more recent (1940s) and could have been cremation so where are those records held?  I will try local parish records but don't suppose many will have been deposited yet.  Many thanks for any help.

Try their local crem with the death details or as should hopefully have the national burial index. I had trouble with 2 reasonally common names .  I'd already got one wrong cert, ruled another out by a cemetry cd of the churchyard.  I've recently found their death details in the will and probates on ancestry and am going to try again. Mine could be crem or cem. You could try the local authority that deals with cemetries.  It might be worth you putting some details of the people and may be people may be able to help you with cemetries etc.  There are some cd's with memorial transcriptions and some with church burial records which cover different places.

I agree with weste, especially for the later one try the local authority where they lived, most have a department dealing with bereavement services, or contact the local crematorium. I have always found them very helpful.

If you put names and dates on here there may be someone who has access to information.

The other method is, assuming you can be precise about the death date, it to troll through the Library local to the  place of death to see if there was a death announcement, or a report on the funeral in the local paper at the time.

Newspaper archives are a wonderful source of information!

I have found this very effective, and often you also pick up other leads  of people as well!

I'd do it under the relevant county as there is more chance of someone who has access to records or local knowledge seeing it.
