A lady that have been in touch with via Genes Reunited called Patricia, went to Norwich record office and found this out..........
Simon was a farm labourer, born in Gisleham in Suffolk in 1777 and baptised on the 27th October of that year. The baptismal entry in the Parish Register records that he was the base born son of Hannah Draper and Simon, the name “Simon” being followed by a very clear blank. In the Gisleham Parish Overseers Book (Norwich R O PD115/24) it’s recorded that on 16th October 1777 the parish paid 3s to carry a Simon Carver to the Justice. A further 2s was then paid to carry him to the House of Industry. This is a tantalising reference and may well point to Simon Carver’s refusing to acknowledge his paternity of Hannah’s child. He was a local boy, the son of parents who married in Gisleham. He himself was born in the nearby village of Uggeshall in 1749 and was therefore 28 years’ old when Hannah gave birth. Gisleham stands on the edge of the arable land of the North East Suffolk coastal plain, less than a mile south of the outer environs of Lowestoft.
I am going to the Lowestoft record office very soon to see if I add any more to it
