Simon Draper

I am looking to find Simon Draper's (born 1777 in Gisleham) parents. I believe they were Hannah and Simon but I can't find where they came from before having Simon in Gisleham! Any help would be gratefully received :-)

I had look around yesterday for your Simon also with little luck.
From memory there was one born c 1755, Huntingdonshire on Familysearch but I couldnt find a Marriage to a Hannah c 1775 anywhere or any other Children to a Simon/Hannah.
There is a possibility that Hannah may also been known as Ann so maybe there are other Children ubder Simon/Ann.

I also found the Simon from Huntingdonshire but sadly have no way of connecting it to the other Drapers at present. I will keep up the search.

Taken from Gisleham parish register.

Simon base son of Hannah Draper and Simon (blank)
Baptised October 27th 1777



The Gisleham parish register has been transcribed and indexed at the SRO and there was no other Draper indexed in the baptisms, marriages or burials.

I also checked nearby parishes of Carlton Colville, Kessingland, Rushmere, Mutford and Pakefield but no possible baptisms for Hannah Draper ~1757 or a marriage >1777.

Thanks Annes, it is proving a mystery! Have been round the cemetries in that area but nothing found.

Hi Have you looked under the name DIAPER. I have Diapers from Middlesex in my tree and they are sometimes shown as DRAPER. Just a thought.
