Ok here they are

Annie - we know about
James aged 79 died 23/8/1926 so therefore approx birth 1847
James aged 39 died 20/11/1912 approx birth 1873 - a possibility for James ANDERSON
Walter aged 66 died 1883 - he was Margaret's father

Ok I have ruled James out as your James Anderson. The age is incorrect when buried.

James who is buried in Creswick with the other Wingates was the son of a James Wingate and Annie Hillhouse. He was born in 1871.

Oh well! back to the drawing board! Sorry  :(

hi Ted,

Thanks for all your information I had looked at that one as well.
The Wingtes had a lot of Walters and James in their families hence th confusion.

I had found  a

James Anderson  state ward 1884 to a James Wilson ???
 James Anderson b 1872 inquest  Nov 1920 Ardlethan ??? age 48yr

James Anderson death  1943 17th dec  Barkly Victoria.

But not sure if they fit my James Anderson.

My James Anderson snr who died 1883 was a contractor .

Both He and Margaret are buried in Dimboola .

PROV has a will for Gabriel WINGATE of Yarraville, died 26 Mar 1902 - leaves all to his wife Janet.

The papers of administration (1918) for the estate of Janet WINGATE (died 1916,  living in Nth Sydney) list only these descendants and states that they are the only surviving next of kin.

Children:

Gabriel WINGATE (living in Elsternwick)
Walter WINGATE
John WINGATE
Andrew WINGATE
Robert WINGATE (deceased by 1918)
Jeannie SCHOFIELD (deceased by 1918)
Grandchildren:
Robert WINGATE
Walter WINGATE
Gladys WINGATE

This seems to imply that the Anderson boys were not known to the Wingate family.

Hi found this :'(
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/72872879?searchTerm="anderson"
Wonder if there was an inquest into his death?
Also the date given on the Childrens Register of State Wards is usually the birth year.
I will be going to the Public Records Office in North Melbourne, hopefully this Friday coming, and can look up the
Childrens Register of State Wards
Probate Administration
And Inquest into death if there is one.

Cheers Leonie
