Ardlethan is in NSW and I would it is the death registered in the district of Narrandera.

Hi Margaret
Have you read the will of Walter WINGATE of Clunes who died 17 April 1883?
His will is dated the 19 March 1883. His son Gabriel is the executor.
Walter leaves equal shares  to James, John and Andrew WINGATE his lawful sons.
10 pounds to a Margaret KNOX of Clunes who was kind to him in his illness, and his watch to Walter WINGATE his nephew.
So no mention of the ANDERSON boys.
The Will was made only days before James ANDERSON died, around the 23rd March 1883, in Dimboola.
In papers by Gabriel WINGATE it says Walter WINGATE the nephew who was left the watch is the grandson of Walter, and that he didnt have a nephew named Walter. :-\
I cannot find any sisters to Margaret ANDERSON nee WINGATE so maybe one of her brothers took the ANDERSON boys?
Do you know if James ANDERSON had any other family in Victoria?
Cheers Leonie

Still a few Wingate descendants about.  Try this link http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/i/n/Guy-Wingate/index.html.
Gabriel originally came from Scotland.
