We have got some old letters my grandad sent to Fegan homes from Egypt & Aldershot and on the top of the letters the mark says 1st platoon 27th batt Raoc any idea what type of regiment this is please.

just to add that you can apply for your grandads service record it will cost you £30 and a death cert is required as well but if either of your grandparents are still alive they can get them for nothing , go to
www.veterans.info/service_records/service_records.html
from there you can download the forms necessary to apply .
