In 1950 most places had a Kelly's directory or similar that showed the householder for all houses.  The main reference library for the town or county should still have a copy in its archives.

Where is it that you would like to find out about?

Local libraries often hold the older electoral rolls and will sometimes do a quick look up fir a year or two for free.Others won't  ;D

I wonder if this would be better on the Lancashire look up board, you might find someone willing to do the look up for you,or someone who holds a relevant Kelly's directory.

Or maybe someone knows the right library or record office that holds the electoral rolls?
