The book that I threatened to write should be available next month. It is my own view of life growing up during the blitz, evacuations, in childrens homes (4 of them). The last home being Ashford.

Please can you tell me how to get in touch as I would love to get a copy of your book for my mum, thanks

Hi everyone,
Just found this site and am blown away with all the information on it! My dad and his 3 brothers went to Ashford school, although I am lead to believe his older brothers previously went to Shirley Residential School.

Gnasher, I'd love to get copies of your book for me, my dad and his brother - but as I'm new I can't seem to message you. I would also love to get copies of the school magazine too.
Admin - please can you help?

My dad has hardly ever spoken about this time in his life, apart from how he used to practice throwing a cricket ball against a wall, watching the planes flying overhead and the holidays to Walton on the Naze, so reading all your comments has helped me understand why he is the way he is .

Thanks again everyone, and I hope to be able to get your book and copies of the magazine.
