Help needed with 3x GtGrandmother
« on: Thursday 24 May 12 22:19 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help with my 3 x Gt Grandmother Agnes Edith ......?
Through census material 1861 and 1871, she states born in Walsall abt 1836.
I cannot find her surname, marraige to Henry Smith circa 1856, parents or
death (between 1871 and 1881).
Her 1st child Bertha Agnes Smith was born in 1856 Bloxwich, subsequent children Rowland H Smith, Joseph H, Sarah Emma and Arthur William were
all born Bloxwich.
I am at a loss with Agnes , any help at all will be gratefully received.

Her 1st child Bertha Agnes Smith was born in 1856 Bloxwich, .

I think you are a little out with Birtha Agnes' y.o.b.

In 1861 she is age 2 b. Goscote (living in Goscote)
1871 n she is age 12 b. Bloxwich

Thanks for this Suz, I think I have worked from the age given on 1911
census which stated she was age 54, but this of course could be wrong.
Possibly wise to include dates of marriage for parents of Bertha
from 1856 - 1860.

I think this is Bertha's birth reg (no pun intended!):

Births Sep 1858
SMITH  Agnes Birtha
Walsall 6b 498

The marriage isn't exactly leaping out, so a birth cert may be the only way to find her mother's maiden name.   :-\

1851 image & transcription reads (to me) as Henry Smith 24, Agnes Eadis Smith 25, Birtha Agnes

there is an Agnes Eades of about correct age in 1841/51 (more than one)

then there is this marriage reg

Sept qtr 1857
Aston
on same page
Henry Smith
Agnes davies Eades
6d 296

I wonder???
