Look up request Mary Jones death certificate
« on: Tuesday 22 May 12 14:36 BST (UK) »
My great-grand mother Mary Jones was married to John Jones of Pendyffryn Farm, Penmaenmawr. She was born 28/02/1859 and died March 2/03/1902.  I would like to know cause of death, as she died relatively young. She was born in Llan Farm Eglwysbach and buried at Eglwysbach Churchyard with her father William Kyffin Jones. Does anyone know this family?

Hi,

You will probably have to buy a copy of the death certificate.

Hi Eli,
John Jones, born 1846, was my great grand uncle and I have it on good authority that in 1910 he was living at Pendyffrin Farm, Penmaenmawr, Wales.  Researching census results for 1891 and 1901 show him married to Mary Jones, so I think we have the same family connection.  John Jones was the brother of my great grandfather, William Jones, 1841-1912.  William was born in Llanbeblig, Caernarfonshire, Wales, possibly Bontnewydd, which is where my grandfather, also William Jones, was born in 1865.  My Welsh family tree is on ancestry.com.  If you have any further information, or if I can be of more help, please let me know.

Hi Eli,
Sorry for the delay in replying to your message but they don't make it easy to find the reply button on Rootschat!
My anecdotal evidence is in a 1910 report on my mother, who was taken into care.  Family members are listed and as to why they are not in a position to look after her.  John Jones of Pendyffrin Farm, Penmaenmawr, is listed as being her great uncle and in very poor health.  There is no mention of his occupation.
However, in the 1891 census he gives his occupation as joiner and farmer, so that ties in with you saying he was a master carpenter.
Where is your evidence for the names of his brothers and sisters?  I would be very interested in any other information that you have on John Jones' family.  Do you have an Appolonia in your tree?  It is a reoccurring name in mine.
