n.b. so in theory as i've updated that update(too many updates there :))two or three times it should in/on computer now,so even though it shouldn't return i will be protected or whatever with those updates(more updates there) ;D

Could somebody help please..i keep getting the same microsoft update popping up every 2/3 mins even though i have done it and it tells me installation is complete..i have just installed again and within 2 mins i have another "update" the same one pop up again.I am currently running AVG check right now but that takes around 3 hours to complete.Any advice please in plain English would be most welcome.

Be aware the problem is more widespread than you think?
I didn't think when this was posted that so many prople still used windows XP.
So like myself our usage of XP must soon come to an end.

I've just noticed that the Update icon has diappeared from my task bar some-when this evening, so presumably (I hope) Microsoft have sorted it.

A neighbour had the same problem with norton 360 and they're on xp.  I had the sme problen with 360 on xp but i must have sorted it.
