security update

Could somebody help please..i keep getting the same microsoft update popping up every 2/3 mins even though i have done it and it tells me installation is complete..i have just installed again and within 2 mins i have another "update" the same one pop up again.I am currently running AVG check right now but that takes around 3 hours to complete.Any advice please in plain English would be most welcome.

I don't know yet, Steve but I'm getting the same problem.
I think MS Update is to blame.

Thanks genie..do you reckon it's safe to keep updating as it seems to be the same update everytime..or are you just like me..haven't a clue with techie stuff ;D..i've stopped doing it for now ???

Had the same here!
Stopped it by clicking on 'don't remind me of this update!
(Will try and put a screenshot later)

Updates were for .NET services (3)
Bring up the 3 updates and untick each of the downloads, then right click for tick for above don't remind me etc.

Add me to the list. I've installed the same three updates twice manually and twice on shut down today, but they still keep coming back up to haunt me.

I think we will just have to wait until Microsoft sort themselves out.

Have you got the shield on your taskbar? Down by the clock.
Right click onto shield and select custom, this brings up 3 updates for .NET.
Unclick the boxes, cancel then click on don't remind me.
