Many thanks to you all !    ;D

Derek - I may pick your brain about other Derbyshire family tree's when I can get the paperwork from other's in my immediate family sorted and know what needs to be looked into further (if thats ok with you?)

Sunflower -  thank you!  The info that you have found really helps me with the Chaddock line.  I had come across the surname "Whiting" on some paperwork before but did not know how it related to the Hunts - now I do  :)

Meercat - yes I also found Marks early death (the male Hunts being a bit easier to find for some reason in the records)  but it has been confirming Mary's death details that I was struggling with (Mary Hunt is such a popular name lol) so once again thank you.

You guys rock!

Many thanks Derek.

Could I take you up on the offer of the other Pakeman details when you have a free moment?? (There's no hurry at all as I've got loads on my to do list ) ;D  It would be interesting to pick up the extended family for Charles etc.

Hi Carol,

Many thanks for the info which confirms what I had found but was not sure about (the Gregson surname in particular.)  It does show with your husbands ancestor that is a small world that we still live in today  :)

I had a look at Sutton on the Hill on earthmap and was very pleasantly suprised to find that a) the village hasn't changed that much in almost 200 years and b) the house where Charles jnr lived in 1839 with his family still exists.  I can feel a day trip coming on!

Once again thanks for all your help.  I'm off now to have a spell on IGI .... wish me luck with the new and "improved" site.

Hi Soo..I have (I hope) replied to your PM..but I had forgotten just where your Thread was....I see now that the HARRIET CHADDOCK marriage is the correct one.........would be interewsted in your response to the baptism at Doveridge of Charles Chaddock......four month before she married Charles Pakeman....

In case you don't knoe..Harriet Chaddock was baptised at Doveridge  26.06.1793 daughter of Thomas and Mary..and she married Charles Pakeman at Doveridge 23.09.1822..........

Hi Derek,

Just PM'd you re Pakemans - however I had no idea about Charles Chaddock!  I have been trying to find out more about Harriet but even with a not so common surname, I have been having difficulty locating any info about her further than her parents.

I found 2 possible christening for Thomas -one the 29th March 1767 at Doveridge and the second on the 4th December 1768 in Ashford.  He married Mary (possibly Farel ??) but again thats tentative.

Thats another branch for me to try and tie down sometime in the future lol.

Hello again Soo....here are your CHADDOCKS..Source Doveridge Parish records:-.......

JAMES CHADDOCK married HANNAH (don't know where or when circa 1755..they had the following children:-

Mary 19.09.1756
Sarah 13.05.1759
Elizabeth 25.10.1761
Hannah 29.06.1764
THOMAS 29.03.1767.........who married Mary..a couple of possible but cannot confirm as yet....'their children were:
Allsteel 19.02.1792 who married Susannah WOOLEY 20.02.1812 ad had five children
HARRIET 26.06.1793 who married CHARLES PAKEMAN 12.05.1822
Sarah 13.09.1795
John 06.05.1798..died 27.06.1800
Hannah 17.05.1801
Samuel 01.08.1802
George 21.10.1804
John 15.02.1808
Anne 05.05.1811

I'm assuming you have all you need for later Pakemans..or Chaddocks......

There are two deathes for MARY CHADDOCK..either of who, cold be Thomas' wife:-

Mary Chaddock buried 17.12.1850 aged 85 (birth 1765?)
Mary Chaddock buried 03.05.1827 aged 75 (birth 1752?)

some marriages..may or may not be relevant:

Hannah 26.04.1790 to James Needing
Mary 27.10.1800 to William Dicken
Mary 29.04.1811 to John Billinge
Sarah 03.02.1818 to Edward Bowring
William 04.03.1828 to Mary Brown
Harriet daughter of john 22.08.1863 to Henry Holbrook Owen

CHARLES CHADDOCK 1822 is definitely the son of Harriet..again in Doveridge PR's....just a few months before she married Charles....the link is inescapable....he may have died in infancy..

Only too pleased to help further if required.
