Help - Birth Look Up for Yarcombe Please

Can some kind person help me with a birth look up for my Gt Grandmother


JANE FRENCH c1846/1847 birthplace Yarcombe Devon according to 1851 Chardstock Dorset Census


Her parents were CEPHAS FRENCH & ELIZABETH DIMOND from Chardstock in Dorset, strangely all the children were born in Chardstock Dorset, except my Gt Grandmother and her brother William c: 1848 who were born in Yarcombe Devon.


So far all the birth certificates I have sent for are not correct so would appreciate any help I can on this

It is quite possible that their births were not registered this early on. Although registration started in 1837 it was not until the mid 1870's that the system was tightened up, prior to this quite a few got missed.  You may have to depend on the christenings, do you have these?

Hi Rosie,

Many thanks for that info, regarding her baptism, I haven't found one as yet, found them for all the siblings except Jane & her brother William who both gave info as born in Yarcombe Devon on the Census's
