Tividale Tabernacle Church Tividale
« on: Monday 21 May 12 14:53 BST (UK) »
I am desperate to find any marriage records for a Thomas Weston and Louisa Deakin, I believe they would have married around 1875. Family story is they married in the Tin Tabarnacle in Tividale, but I have no records for this, and Louisa is in 1911 living with a Pinder family in Birmingham as a house keeper shown as single - although her husband is still alive and living in Tipton.

Family stories vary, some people say they are married others believe they were not. I am desperate to find this certificate as it will confirm Thomas's fathers name and occupation and I need this to continue my tree research, and this is becoming a massive sticking point!!!

Hi Trish

Thomas Weston, according to the census records was born in Birmingham/Warwickshire circa 1854, there are a couple of Thomas Westons at this time in Birmingham, and without confirmation from his wedding certificate of his fathers name, I am not 100% sure which he would be as a child. I know that he lived in Birmingham, Smethwick, Tividale and Tipton. The he is shown as the husband to Louisa Deakin, and that their first child (thomas) was born on 17 July 1877, and family belive they married in Tividale around this time. I know that Louisa and Thomas parted company for a while, Thomas went to live in Tipton with his son where he died in 1948.

Louisa was the daughter of Frances and Edwin Deakin, and I believe her father must have died and Frances remarried a Thomas O'Brien (trying to confirm this) i know Louisa was living with O'Briens on one of the census. Louisa in 1911 is shown as living with the Pinder family in Birmingham and shows herself as single, although on her death certificate it says wife of Thomas Weston. The pinder family are connected through Louisa and Thomas's daughter Maud Weston who married a Charles Pinder

Family story is divided on whether Thomas and Louisa ever married, one member of the family vows that he had seent he wedding certificate at the 'tin tabernacle' in Tividale, but others believe they never actually married.

My main reason for wanting to find this, is to go back further in Thomas's family line, Thomas was a galvanizer by trade and this leads me to believe that his father may have been Thomas Weston from Birmingham first show as a Jeweller and later and galvanizer, but this is just instinct and I would like some form of proof

Any help would be fantastic.

The O'Brein connection, comes from Louisa's mother (Frances).

Frances was I believe married to a Edwin Deakin, who I presume died, but have not found this record, she then married a Thomas O'Brien having further children together. Louisa on occasions used the O'Brien surname rather than her own of Deakin
