Maslen Marriage in Stanton St. Bernard
« on: Sunday 20 May 12 15:02 BST (UK) »

Afternoon all,

If anyone has copies of the parish records for Stanton St. Bernard, I would be immensely grateful for a look-up of a marriage that occurred circa 1815/1816 between Daniel Maslen and Mary UNKNOWN, who was born in the village. As her husband wasn't married in his, I'm now wondering if they were married in hers.

Many, many thanks :)

Have looked at P.R's for Stanton St Bernard, there is no Daniel Maslen marrying a Mary listed there.

What parish was Daniel from and have you any idea what his occupation was?.

Hi West,

Dang :( Not sure where else they could have gotten to then. Daniel Maslen was from All Cannings, but there is no marriage or him there either, nor in Bishop's Cannings, so unless he and Mary simply did not marry...

He was a labourer, farmer and butcher throughout his life, always in All Cannings (or that area) as far as I know. His daughter did go to London, probably to stay with paternal relatives, and married there, so unless this link goes back another generation, I have no idea where else in Wiltshire he and Mary may have married.

Many thanks though, much appreciated  :)

Now that one I haven't seen before! Given the geography and date of marriage/birth for Mary, that is almost certainly my Daniel and Mary (though I've never seen him give that occupation).

Cheers immensely West and trish1120 ;D That finally solves a mystery. Thank you  :)
