Many thanks for the info, funnily enough visited the Hengate memorial yesterday afternoon (21st) as he's also commemorated on the main one there. Took a few photos whilst there, did see the one on the rear wall and he's not listed on that one? bit of a puzzle, will have to go back to the History centre and take another look in the book to check exactly which memorial he's supposed to be commemorated on.
It was by chance I found the book in the History centre with memorial listings as I was only passing time whilst some documents were brought from the archives for me.
Would be most interested in your almanac, as you say a bit of a long shot but my g grandfahter was John Thomas Ibbertson who died 1917 from wounds at a casualty station around the time of Oppy Wood.
