Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton, Ontario
« on: Tuesday 15 May 12 15:51 BST (UK) »
Hi,

After many years of researching and having my fingers crossed, I've just found the death record and burial note for a relative who emigrated from Manchester, England to Canada.

She was called Eveline Moore (nee Berwick) and died on 16 September 1937 and is buried in Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton, Ontario.

My next crusade is to get a photo of the grave for my mother, who has wondered what had happened to her great aunt all these years.

As I too am in England, I can't go myself and I don't really know where to start. How can I find out her grave reference and is ther any way of getting a photo(even at a cost)?

Any help gratefully received!!

Thanks

Hi Blue Sten,

There was some ancestry message board posts regardingh Woodland Cemetery. Hamilton. Ontario - one poster purchased a CD from Hamilton Genealogical and it has all the listings, what is on the stones and maps of cemetery and maps of each section.
If nothing pans out here, perhaps a look at this link could help you. (approx 5 th reply)

Didn't see a listing here:-  http://www.woodlawncemeterycca.org/linked/burial%20statistics.pdf

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for the pointers. I've had a look at the Ancestry link so I'll follow that one up and see what I find.

The other link though, appears to be for Woodlawn Cemetery in New York??? Am I looking at the wrong thing?

Thanks again,

Fiona

Lol  ::)  Perhaps thats why she is not listed Fiona  ::)  Sorry, my error.

If nothing pans out on here you could always try the option suggested on a USA thread previously -

Join Find A Grave (free) and create a memorial page and then request a photograph - its explained here -  How to submit a photo request.  Hope this helps.

Good Luck

Good evening Blue,

I have several ancestors buried at Woodland as well as White Chapel cemeteries in Hamilton Ontario. I will be going to Woodland the last week of May to scour around for my g-uncle (not buried with 1st one)and his second wife . If you would like me to take pic of your ancestor's marker please PM me the detail info you have on your ancestor and I will do my best and  to take a pic and speak to the administrator and see what info he/she has for you. Will get copy  of cemetery map as well.

Cheers for now,

JDC
