Eccles IOM Birth

I have a death cert for my great nan who died in liverpool and whose married name was Amy Phipps her birth date is 1902 born in the IOM her birth name is Eccles. I haven't been able to locate any records for her birth and it seems her life is a blank from 1902 or even how she came to liverpool. Can anyone help or even heard of this name relating to the Isle of Man?

Lawsons IOM BMD site has 7 births under the name Eccles, dating from 1885 to 1899.

There are also 4 Eccles marriages.

No Amy, though?! :(

Can't find her on 1911 census, either?

Do you have her marriage certificate as that would give her father's name?

There is this site, but births only go up to 1901.  ::)

I have found the marriage (June qtr 1932, Liverpool) which was Register Office, or Registrar Attended.

FamilySearch has the IoM baptisms up to 1902, but I can't see an Amy Eccles?
There are 7 baptisms with Amy as first or second name, but not Eccles.

Was she catholic, perhaps?

They were catholic I think information is sparse on this part of my family.

I found that marriage cert but it is registered on some sites a May not Amy? Plus this after the birth of my nan?

Its driving me crazy its seems like she disappeared after she was born and nothing on her husband!

I i'll apply to IOM to get a birth cert seems the only way to solve this one!

Hi  is your nan still alive, have you seen her birth certificate?

I believe that her birth may have been registered twice - see Freebmd http://www.freebmd.org.uk  once in Dec 1931 as Eccles and then after the marriage in September 1933 as Phipps. This suggests that she may have been born before her parents married.

Check this site as well  http://lancashirebmd.org.uk and you will see the two registrations in Toxteth North

No no birth cert no she died in 1972.

I think your right she was registered twice.
