White's from Larne/carrickfergus
« on: Sunday 13 May 12 18:16 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the White family and at a loss as to where to go next?

Minnie (whilemina White) was born in in Feb 1890 in Ballynure, Larne. Her mother is listed as Jane White born approx 1860 - Jane is the daughter of Mary Ann White b approx 1833 in Antrim

I have found them in 1901 census in Carrickfergus and presume that Jane and Mary Anne both die before 1911 as they have vanished.

I can't find any trace of the brothers who live with Minnie nor how they connect to other White's in the area

Can someone help please?

Hi,
The only one I can find reference to is William. He was born on 28 Aug 1871 to Mary Anne White and the birth was registered in Carrickfergus.

Thank you I have this link, but mary ann white and Jane White are listed as unmarried.

I thought following the males would be easy but they are proving to be elusive!

I can find no trace of william white, he disappears completley?

Where can I find a reference for this please? Is it possible to order a birth certificate? I am presuming that Jane is his sister, there may be more brothers and sisters I don't know anything about.

As my whites are Presbyterians is it likely that other White's in the same town with the same religious denomination could be related? There seems to be several different religions listed on the census returns

I posted the link to 1901 census to save others from having to search for it.

The online civil registration index goes up to 1921 for Northern Ireland counties so you could try searching for deaths or marriages.
www.familysearch.org

It's also possible some/all the family left the area so you might want to check the 1911 census for them in other parents of Ireland.

Added- here are Edward, Minnie and John in 1911- still in Carrickfergus:
