coal mining familys Newmonkland

Hello,My Great grandfather  Joseph Kelly(1892-1965) moved from near Buncrana, Co Donegal to Scotland, he married Jane Daly(1891-c1980) in 1914 before going off to France in WW1. I have been told that his Fathers name was William Kelly And his mother was Margaret Dohertey.  They got married on 02 Nov 1914 at St Davids. Aidrie. Jane Daly’s Father was John (James) Daly and mother was Anne Mcalaney. I know that they live and worked in a coal mining area, I believe it was new Monkland.
Does any one know anything about this area and perhaps the familys.

What were their addresses when they married 1914?

Joseph was said to be a ploughman at Machan, farm larkhall, and Jane was a farm servant at East Gartmillar farm, By Aidrie.

Did they continue to live in the Airdrie area after their marriage?

Where is the birthplace of their children?

Did Joseph become a miner after his marriage?

Henry,
           Airdrie Parish was St. Margarets,
St. Davids was in Whiterigg, a couple of miles outside the town of Airdrie
smack dab in the middle of the Lanarkshire Coal Fields.
I have a book called "The Lost Villages" which tells the history of this Coal Field.
Please find attached a page from the book.
