Oh my gosh, THANK YOU Tara & myluck! :)   I had not found any of this information online before!  Just quickly skimmed through the links, but it's going to help me out A LOT!  Can't wait to show my husband when he gets home today.  I'm off to walk the dog, but I will look at these more fully when I get back.  Thanks so much!! :)
Sincerely,
Jamie

Okay, now I've had more time to look through your responses and links more fully.   I did not have a lot of this information, so thanks again Tara, for posting so much. Myluck!, I think I typed wrong in my initial post.  I don't know where Thomas was born, but I did have George's information.  Sorry about that mix up.  I did see the second link that you posted from Barbara Eyre last night.  I am not the distant cousin that she is referring to, but I think I know who it is.  My father-in-law has talked about his cousin, Barry Eyre, who has done a lot of research on their Eyre side.  That must be who Barb is talking about.  I have Barry's email, so I need to send him a note very soon.  In fact, I'll try to find it and send it tonight.  But, the first link of Barb's that you posted, I had not seen before.  So, I will have to reply to that as well.  Hopefully, she will be notified that there are new posts and get back to me.

I really appreciate both of you for responding to my post and helping!  You've given me enough information to keep going. :)

Sincerely,
Jamie

Tara,
I was looking at the dates of the marriage certificates for Susan Eyre and Elizabeth Eyre.  I think Susan Eyre might be a niece of Thomas, because supposedly (according to another poster) he had a brother named John, as well as his father being named John.  She was married in 1900, so if she was 17 or 18 at the youngest when married, she would have been born around 1882/83, which makes her way too young to be Thomas' sister in my opinion.

But, it is possible that Elizabeth could be his sister or his niece.  She was married in 1868, and if she was 17 or 18 at the youngest when married, she would have been born around 1850/51.  Thomas was supposedly born in 1836, so if his father had a bunch of kids, she could be at the tail end.  If Thomas' brother, John, is her father and he was supposedly born in 1835, he would have only been about 15/16 years old when she was born.

So, I think it's possible that Elizabeth was Thomas' younger sister, and Susan was his niece by brother John.  But, just a guess.  I have no way of knowing for sure, but the dates work out better for this scenario.

Or I could be completely off base and they are cousins of some sort...who knows!  :D

Thanks for sharing these links!

Sincerely,
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

If memory serves me right, I think I just posted everything with the names Thomas & John Eyre on them and probably didn't double check the timeline (sorry !).

Now that you are sitting down with them yourself, you will get a better idea than me of where they might slot in to your tree (if at all !).

Best of Luck

Tara

I put together what I had found to visualise it
All the info is from www.familysearch.org or www.irishgenealogy.ie

There is also a long shot on a child born in 1913 named Cornelius Thomas Eyre
His civil birth and death record are in Dublin North as
Birth Cornelius Thomas EYRES Dublin North Jan - Mar 1913 V2 P634
Death Cornelius Thomas AYRES Dublin North Jan - Mar 1913 V2 P556
There are also records for a Cornelius Eyre born 1833 Father's name John who married in Limerick in 1866 - he may have been Thomas' uncle? hence the long shot!

Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley
Byrne [Carthy], Keeffe/ Germaine, Butler/ McDermott, Giblin/ Lally, Dolan

I did some work looking up family of Henrietta Gwynne nee Eyre, who is buried in Donnybrook Cemetery.
She was married to the curate of St Ann's Church, Dawson Street, one James Gwynne.  She died shortly after giving birth to her first child, Eyre Gwynne, in 1859.
